Quiet voices explores our relationship with media, advertising, politics and opinions. Our feeds are not within our control and are governed by algorithyms that decide what we see.

It references billboards and posters and hints to my backgound of graphic design, advertising and marketing before my art career.

The painting uses my signature material of highy textured white oil paint, the detail is not immediately visible but as the abient light changes area come into view and slowly reveal themselves. My process for these paintings is to paint an outline in textured white oil paint, which once it is dry is filled in with deeper texture. It is layered in stages and because of the drying time between stages and layers it is a labour intensive and time-consuming process, but one that delivers subtle, quiet and unique results.
