About the painting

 

This is a subtle and quite painting that was painted using just Titanium white oil paints (I used a natural unbleached titanium white for the the background/sky). This means that it is purely light falling onto the textures of the paint in the subject that creates the detail that you see. In some lighting the elements are very subdued and almost invisible but they stand out dramatically in others. During the day as the ambient light direction and intensity changes so does the painting. This effect is mimicked as you walk round the painting and view it from different angles.
